ALYAH FRESNEL – NORWALK GRASSROOTS TENNIS: NORWALK, CT

Alyah is a leader at Norwalk Grassroots Tennis & Education.  She has a keen knowledge of others and their challenges as tennis players, junior coaches, teammates, students and citizens.  As a NGTE coach she helps other coaches with their students by sharing successful teaching methods.  As a competitor and teammate, she plays to win but is humble in defeat and in victory appropriately respects the efforts of her competitor.  As a student, Alyah is open about her own challenges and shares those challenges with her peers so to make them comfortable in speaking about their own challenges.  Alyah plans to study business next year in college and wants to promote a community mission to help those who are under resourced.  She wants to create an understanding of the different experiences of the poor to build a better community.  Her gift of kindness comes in the form of honest companionship, attention to the needs of others, encouragement to younger children and inspiring words and deeds for the adults in her life.
